Programme Notes

Note by Paul Griffiths,

The dances are a lively Volta, a slow Alman and a rushing Coranto, all laid out to make excellent material for the secondary school orchestra. Teachers will know whether their pupils are more likely to be fired by the generally straightforward demands of these and Five Voluntaries, or by the very striking if less usual qualities of the Five Klee Pictures.
